Affirmative Action
who: Supreme Court
what: Supreme Court upheld a Michigan law banning racial criteria in college admissions.
when: Tuesday, March 22, 2014
where: Michigan
why: This was enacted in order to prohibit the "racial quota" some colleges look for when accepting students into their school. This law was made in order to prevent the discrimination of colored students. Many people feel as though people are admitted to college mainly based off of their skin color. By enacting this law it removes another layer of unnecessary discrimination within education.
